Refund Policy
LAST UPDATED 24 July 2026
The short version
- First payment on a new Pro subscription: full refund if you ask within 14 days.
- Consumers in the EU, EEA and UK additionally have the statutory 14-day right of withdrawal described below — we honour it, and we do not ask you to sign it away.
- Cancel any time, in two clicks, from your account. Cancelling stops the next charge and leaves your access running to the end of the period you paid for.
- Renewal charges are not automatically refundable, but if a renewal caught you out, write to us — see "Renewals".
- Refunds go back to the original payment method through Stripe. We never keep the money and offer credit instead.
Statutory right of withdrawal (EU / EEA / UK consumers)
If you are a consumer resident in the EU, the EEA or the UK, you have 14 days from entering the contract to withdraw from it without giving any reason. A clear statement to that effect — email is fine — is enough; there is no form to fill in.
Digital services are a special case in law: because Pro access starts immediately, the statute lets a trader ask you to consent to performance beginning at once and to acknowledge that you then lose the withdrawal right. We have chosen not to rely on that. Within 14 days you get your money back whether or not you used the product in the meantime.
The 14-day money-back window
Everyone else — outside the EU, EEA and UK — gets the same 14 days as a matter of policy rather than statute. One rule for everybody is simpler to run and simpler to trust. It applies to the first payment on a new Pro subscription, monthly or annual, once per account.
Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method. Stripe usually posts them within five to ten business days; the exact timing is your bank's, not ours. Pro access ends when the refund is issued.
Renewals
Subscriptions renew automatically, and Stripe emails a receipt for every charge. A renewal is not covered by the 14-day window above. That said, if an annual renewal landed unexpectedly and you have not used the service since it was charged, write to us within 14 days of the charge and we will refund it and close the subscription. We would rather do that than keep money from someone who does not want the product.
Cancelling
Cancel from your account page, which opens the Stripe billing portal — the same place you can update the card or download invoices. There is no cancellation fee, no phone call and no retention offer to sit through. Cancelling is not the same as a refund: it stops future charges and leaves your Pro access running until the end of the period you already paid for, after which the account drops to the free tier with nothing deleted. Prices and what each plan includes are on the pricing page.
How to ask
Email support@forecandle.com from the address on the account, say that you want a refund, and — only if you feel like it — say what went wrong. We answer refund requests within two business days and we do not require a reason to honour the 14-day window.
Where we say no
We will decline a refund where an account has been suspended for abuse of the service or for breaching the Terms of Service, where the same account has already used the money-back window before, or where the request is a repeat pattern of subscribing and refunding. Fraudulent chargebacks are disputed with Stripe. If a payment on your card was genuinely not yours, contact us first — that is faster than a chargeback and we will refund it.
Statutory rights, including the withdrawal right above and any mandatory consumer protection in your country, are not affected by anything in this section.
